Have you been pondering the question: “How much is a Tesla car?” Read on to find out! We’ll give you all the details you need to know about this car.

What Is a Tesla?

Tesla is a fully electric vehicle made by the company Tesla, Inc. This brand is involved in things like solar panel manufacturing and is founded by Elon Musk, J.B. Straubel, and Ian Wright. Musk is the current CEO and frequently makes headlines with his technology.

How Much Is a Tesla Car?

There’s not a straightforward answer to this question, as there are many models of this car. Some start at $35,000 while others start at $250,000. With such a huge difference in sticker prices, Tesla vehicles deserve a closer look. Here’s the scoop about the different models, what they offer, and how much they are.

Model S

The Model S is a sedan that was first produced in 2012. Within a few years, the Model S made its way into Europe and China. This car has won multiple awards, including “Motor Trend Car of the Year” in 2013, “World Green Car” in 2013, and “Ultimate Car of the Year” in 2019.

With this vehicle, you get two choices: the Model S Long Range and the Model S Performance. The Long Range has an EPA range of 375 miles while the Performance has an EPA range of 345 miles.

One of the amazing pieces of technology this Tesla vehicle has is an autopilot upgrade. This uses sensors, cameras, and radars to steer the car safely.

You can expect to pay over $81,190 for either variant of the Model S.

Model X

If you’re looking for a large vehicle, you’ll want to consider the Model X. This is a mid-size crossover SUV that first came into production in late 2015. You can fit anywhere between 5 to 7 passengers inside.

The Model X has an interesting design since the passenger doors open in a vertical fashion, which gives it a “falcon-wing” aesthetic that’s unique to Teslas.

Like the Model S, the Model X has two options: Long Range and Performance. The Long Range has an EPA of 325 miles; the Performance has an EPA of 270 miles.

Because this vehicle has an excellent windshield and glass roof design, it’s a great purchase if you frequently have passengers in your car on long, scenic rides. It also has the option for an autopilot upgrade, just like the Model S.

The price for the Model X starts at $82,200.

Model Y

Looking for something cheaper? Then take a closer look at the Model Y. This car’s price tag starts at $48,200, which makes it much more accessible than the Model S and X.

This is a compact crossover that can fit up to 7 people. It’s one of Tesla’s newest cars, as it won’t be available until 2020. However, you can start ordering them now.

Like the above two vehicles, the Model Y is available in both Long Range and Performance models. The EPA for the former is 300 miles and the EPA for the latter is 280 miles.

If you’d like the autopilot upgrade, then you’ll be pleased to know that it’ll be available for the Model Y too.

Model 3

The Model 3 was originally supposed to be named the Model E, but since Ford already had a trademark on the name, Tesla was served with a lawsuit. As a result, the company changed the E to a 3.

This car came into production in 2017 and in the next year, it is one of the best-selling plug-in cars in California. In 2019, it even surpassed the sales of the Model S.

As expected, Model 3 comes in Long Range and Performance models. But it also comes in the Standard Range. The EPAs for the three are as follows: 325 miles, 310 miles, and 240 miles.

The starting price of the Model 3 used to be $37,500 with an optional upgrade for the autopilot feature. However, it now comes standard with autopilot included for the starting price of $39,500.

Pickup Truck

While it’s only speculation that Tesla will make a pickup truck, they’ll likely come out with one named the Model B in 2020. CEO Elon Musk has stated that it will cost less than $50,000 and it’ll surpass the popular Ford F-150.

It’ll be interesting to see how Tesla plans on designing this truck, as it has to be powerful enough to serve the purposes that traditional pickup trucks serve. For instance, there’s speculation that it’ll utilize dual electric motors to achieve excellent tow ratings.

Seeing as there has been little news or concepts released surrounding this pickup truck, we may have to wait longer than 2020 to get a finished Tesla pickup truck.

Roadster

The Roadster was the original Tesla car that made the brand a huge hit back in 2008. It took the world by storm because it was the first electric car that used lithium-ion batteries. It was also the first electric car that had the capability to travel over 200 miles with each charge.

Although they stopped production of the Roadster in 2011, Tesla plans to unveil a 2020 model, with options to reserve one now. The reservation requires you to give a $5,000 credit card down payment and a $245,000 wire transfer within 10 days. Your reservation isn’t final until the wire transfer goes through.
